Have you ever taken a mud bath?

It hurts. Especially when it’s clay and it dries on your skin. And the tiny little hairs all over your body meld with the clay to hold on to it, even though you don’t want it to. You become slimy, then cold, then crusty. And then comes the part where you try to ‘wipe’ it off. But no matter what you do, it leaves a residue. A dust. Like glitter or sand, you find it everywhere for months to come.
